Therapy Introduction

Reflexology is a science which deals with the principle that there are reflexes in the feet which relate to each an every organ and all parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help cure many health problems in a natural way. Reflexology is a serious advance in the health field and should not be confused with massage.

Working on reflexes in the feet has been used for many thousands of years by the Chinese. The Egyptians were using it as long ago as 2330 B.C. The first person to research and develop foot reflexology was Eunice Ingham. He was also the first to write a book on the subject, in 1938, called "Stories The Feet Can Tell". Eunice Ingham found the pressing certain parts of the underside of the foot could relive pain and discomfort in other parts of the body, and so the modern day science of reflexology as we know it was born.

The Ingham method of reflexology is used primarily for relaxing tension. It is known that at least 75% of disease is caused by stress. Reflexology improves nerve and blood supply and helps restore and maintain the body's natural balance. Reflexology is a gentle passive form of treatment which helps over or under active organs to regain their correct balance and so restore the body to it's proper health.

Only the hands are used to give treatment, making it safe, simple, and yet effective method without the use of gadgets.
